Portraits of Dogs and Their Owners

For a while now I've thinking about starting a project about dogs and their owners. I won't go into great detail about 'why?' for now, but I thought I'd share some pre-20th century, mostly Victorian paintings of dogs and of dogs and their owners that I find particularly interesting. At the moment the two main things that interest me most are poise and relationship. Eventually the images I take will be made into an artists publication and will be self-published.
